Texas woman accused of fatally shooting woman she was allegedly dating

BEDFORD, Texas (TCD) — A 53-year-old woman was charged earlier this week for reportedly shooting a woman she was dating on Saturday, Dec. 4.

According to the Bedford Police Department, at approximately 11 a.m., officers responded to the 2300 block of Windsor Court, where the suspect, Tracy Walters, lives. She reportedly called 911 to report an unresponsive person.

At the scene, police say they found 53-year-old Cynthia Cervantes on the floor, shot multiple times. Police say medics tried to revive Cervantes. She was reportedly transported to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

According to the Bedford Police Department, Walters and Cervantes were dating, though the status of their relationship at the time of the shooting is unknown.

Walters was arrested and charged with murder. She remains held at Tarrant County Correction Center on $200,000 bond, jail records show.
